Exam Essay Day 2

Today in human geography class, we worked on our exam essays and peer editing. Peer editing is when your classmates look over your essays and try and git you hints or feedback to make it better. I finished my essay during my off mod. I had off mod first mod and that was so nice because I could sleep in a little and get to school right around 8. I was stressing about my essay for a while because it wasn't making sense and I didn't know what to write about, but in the end, it all came together. I am happy that I am now done so that when I go to take my human geography exam, I won't have to write an essay and worry about my time as much. Our human geography exam is the last exa on the last day so I will be tired of testing and just ready for Christmas break.

Exam Essay

Today in class we had a sub. Our sub was Mrs. G. I really like her because she is super sweet and chill. Class wasn't very hard because we just worked on our essays for our exam. I chose to write my essay on option A. Option A was choosing three different nations and explaining the challenges each one has because of immigration or population issues. Another part to the question is the analyze what the leader's of each nation have to do in order to deal with those struggles. I didn't do a lot of it in class because I couldn't focus, but I don't think it will take too much time to write. I am praying I get a good grade on this because the exams seem like a decent portion of our grade and I really don't feel like bombing it.

Test Day

Today class was alright. We took a test that I had no clue about. I was super nervous because I already don't have the best grade in the class. I did my best, and I didn't think it was as hard as I thought it was going to be. The front page we had to match words to what their definitions were and that was probably the easiest part of the test. I got it over with and felt relieved. I then started this blog and got some other homework done. I had some extra time to chill time. My day has been good so far. I am in off right now and about to start studying some more for exams. I've make a few quilts so I am just going to look over that.

European Immigrants and Emigrants

Today in class, we talked about many things. For some reason this class went by really fast. Some of the things that I learned today were different things about Europe and their immigrants and emigrants. Europe had some concerns with immigration because population growth is fueled by immigration from many regions throughout the world and many people dislike this in Europe. Some facts that Ravenstein noted is that most long- distance migrants are male, most long- distance migrants are single adults instead of families with children, and lastly, most young adult men seeking work rather then children or elderly people.

Notes on Immigrants

Today in human geo, we went back to what we normally did about a week or two ago. We took notes off of a power point. I started to fall asleep because I was so tired but I finally made it through class. We wrote down the notes and Mr. Schick would talk about each thing with us. We learned more about migration today. Some of the things we learned is that countries need ways to control immigration and emigration. They have policies for those particular reasons. The passing of the Quota Act took place in 1921 and the National Origins Act in 1924. Those acts ended unrestricted immigration in the U.S. Some of the restrictions to even qualify to get looked at are if you are beat or have been down graded because you're a women. Those are the most common.

Migrant Packet

Hello blog. Today in Human Geography class, we didn't do anything fun. I was super tired because it was first mod and human geo isn't always the most interesting subject to me. Today Mr. Schick gave us a packet that was like eight pages long. We had to go through read it, highlight important details, and take notes in our notebooks. It took me a while to read it but then I started just highlighting the bolded words, and looking at the back of the packet where the words and their definitions are located. We are learning about migrations and the US- Mexican borders. It talked about how there are less people getting into the US then wanting to. It also talked about how Ellis Island (located in New York) was used to transfer immigrants the New York City.

Trump Talk

In class today, we listened to another podcast about trump and things that happened with migrants and the United States/ Mexico borders. I took notes at the beginning of class but I stopped after a while because we started having more class discussion about what was going on, and the different opinions throughout the room on certain things that were said in the podcast. I found this to be the most interesting podcast because it is current problems. This one event happened where immigrants were having a peaceful protest on the border waiting to be seen to come into America, and the people got violent and started running and charging at people, trying to get across the border by force. The American police had to tear gas the immigrants so they would calm down. I feel bad for the American police having to deal with that, and I think Trump should close the borders for like a week to teach the immigrants a lesson.

Last Test

Today our classes were shorter (only 50 minutes) because it was a D day and we got out early. We also took our last test in Western Civ. I t...
