Notes on Immigrants

Today in human geo, we went back to what we normally did about a week or two ago. We took notes off of a power point. I started to fall asleep because I was so tired but I finally made it through class. We wrote down the notes and Mr. Schick would talk about each thing with us. We learned more about migration today. Some of the things we learned is that countries need ways to control immigration and emigration. They have policies for those particular reasons. The passing of the Quota Act took place in 1921 and the National Origins Act in 1924. Those acts ended unrestricted immigration in the U.S. Some of the restrictions to even qualify to get looked at are if you are beat or have been down graded because you're a women. Those are the most common.
