Rap vs Textbook
After listening to and reading both the rap and the textbook, they both supplied me with good and useful information. There was several similarities and differences though. The first difference was that in the textbook is said how in order for Rome to obtain greater power they conquered Italy and all of its land. The rap doesn't say anything about that. The second difference between the rap and the text book is that the rap has music to go along with it and the textbook you have to read (there isn't any kind/type of music to go along with it). This can make the rap more beneficial because people tend to understand and remember things better when they are learning to information to a beat/tune/music. The final difference is that the book give more detail about events and explains them in more depth. The rap states a lot of good ideas and information but doesn't explain everything that well. The rap and textbook also had some similarities. The first being who the first leader of Rome was. The first leader was the Latins. Another similarity is both talk about the first settlers of Rome, which were the Etruscans and the Greeks. Personally, I like the rap better because I feel it would be more useful on tests or exams. It flows and is a bit more clear then just a bunch of words on a page!
