Immigration and Rates

In today's human geography class we talk about a few different things. Those things were measuring population, total fertility rate why people migrate, different migration rates, and a few other things branching off of those topics. When you measure population and want to find the rate, you subtract the death rate from the birth rate. What I found most interesting about this class was when we talked about push forces and pull forces of migration. A push force is why people would want to leave a certain place, and a pull force is why someone would want to go to a certain place. Some examples of push forces are war, environmental deflation, unemployment or underemployment, and religious or ethnic persecution. Some pull forces are better health service, better economic opportunities, political freedom, and religious freedom.
